During the last weeks, the major geek blogs/sites kept flooding us with mediocre topics like “new 3G iPhone photos, fake or real photos, rumored 3G iPhone design etc.”.
However, today, thanks to Vodafone’s announcement, we have something new to talk about the iPhone.
Here is the official announcement:
Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.
It just couldn’t be more plain!
Since the 8GB iPhone model is going to be discontinued soon, there are two possibilities left for the above countries. Either the current 16GB iPhone model, or the brand new 3G iPhone (expected in June).
In European countries, where 3G networks are already being widely used, and supported by most modern handsets, the 3G version should be the way to go forward.
Oh and definitely not looking forward to a Vodafone Live menu!
