I decided to try Nero 8, so I went on and installed version 126.96.36.199.
The installation process was successful, and pretty similar to Nero 7.
The problem occurred when I tried to burn some of my lovely Verbatim DVD+R disks.
Nero 8 insisted that the DVD (ISO) compilation required a DVD-R disk and not a DVD+R one!
(…Compilation cannot be written on that medium type … Medium in drive: DVD+R … Medium required by compilation: DVD-R)
I did a Google search, and the only possible solution involved upgrading the device firmware.
Therefore I downloaded a firmware update, applied it, but Nero 8 still didn’t like my DVD+R disk.
Now I am a happy Nero 7 user again, as I reverted back to version 188.8.131.52.
Anyone else with the same problem? Is it device related?
The whole annoying installation/uninstallation process and troubleshooting took me about an hour, so I am not going to try with 184.108.40.206b that was just released.
