A few minutes ago I was reading an amusing geeky topic called “Gmail’s Mysterious Grey Box” on TechCrunch. It is all about a small pixel graphic which is currently visible on the top left corner of Gmail. It is probably something like a CSS/iFrame rendering issue on Firefox browsers, as it cannot be seen on IE for instance. You can have a look at the comment section if you would like to read about other possible “theories”.
Anyway, here is something similar that came to my attention recently, which is visible on Google Search result pages. Everytime I am pressing the “Next” button, a tiny blue box is flickering over the right arrow, as well as, while pressing the “Previous” button, the same box appears on top of “G” letter.
This is visible on Firefox only, it doesn’t appear on IE7. I haven’t tried it on Safari or Opera though. Again it could be something like an iFrame or CSS rendering issue.
Anyone else noticed it? Any geeky “theories”? 
Well, the little grey box that appears on the Gmail page cannot be seen on Safari, as far as I can tell. I also do not see the blinking blue box that appears on the “next” or “previous” links on search pages. I think it is just as you said, rendering issues using Firefox 3.

I see it, but it’s red on mine. And the dot appears above the ‘O’ also, for each number you click.
@Blazane: I haven’t noticed the “O” dot! Probably because I am always using the previous/next buttons.
On FF3 I can hit the next arrow or the word next to advance, but I have to hit the word previous as the arrow doesn’t work. Oh and the blue dot about the next arrow has been driving me nuts since installing ff3

I am getting the same blue dot above “next” & “previous” on FF after the most recent update. I offer no solutions – only more complaints. I thought I had a virus until I found your posts.
I was talking to some guy in the pub and he says that his friends brother works for google. The little dot use secret new technology to use your monitor backwards as a camera, to send pictures to the government of people who are seraching to find out what the little dot is.

Yes, the Dot is part of the whole Fusion Center ” Stazi ” police state. Ideological conformists who don’t care about our constitution or bill of rights !
By the way propaganda by all THEIR media (including movies and commercials) , religion, has so indoctrinated our thinking.
